What to Know

Plan your visit with confidence.

Wheelchair Access

The Crystal Caves is wheelchair friendly.

There are 12 steps at the very end of the cave tour however, you can make your way back the way you came. There is also an accessible emergency exit.

Maximum width at the narrowest points of the caves is 750mm.

Vision Impaired

The Crystal Caves is very tactile. René built the caves to be interactive. Listen to the ambient music as you and your support person walk through the caves. Listen to your support person describe the crystals and reach out and touch the crystals on display that are not behind glass.

Hearing Impaired

The Crystal Caves is a self-guided, highly interactive experience. Guests explore at their own pace using a written guidebook and visual displays throughout the museum. Visitors are encouraged to touch and interact with many of the specimens, allowing them to experience the collection in a hands-on and engaging way.

Limited Mobility

Within the caves along the ramp there are handrails for your support. You are welcome to sit on some of the bigger specimens within the cave. There is a pallet chair at the giant Amethyst water feature for your comfort. The stairs at the cave exit is supported with handrails as well.

Cognitive and Learning Impaired

Our staff are patient and supportive. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

If you would like a more quiet time to come into our store and caves, we recommend first thing in the morning at 9am. This is usually our least busy time.

If you would like to visit us outside of our normal business hours, please feel free to give us a call to discuss options.

Service Animals

We welcome all pets and service animals. Our staff respect that your service dog is there to do a job. If you require any assistance or have any questions, please just speak with one of our lovely staff members. We can even get water for them if needed.
